Eggless Thumbprint Cookies | Eggless Jam Cookies

Easy eggless thumbprint jam cookies are sweet, buttery and soft cookies. These only need 4 ingredients and can be prepared quickly!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Maida (All purpose flour)
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (Room Temperature)
  • 4 Tablespoons Sugar (Powdered)
  • Jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 C / 350 F for 10 minutes. line a baking tray with a parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. In a mixing bowl , add room temperature butter. Beat the butter using a hand mixer or a hand whisk for 2-3 minutes or till the butter gets light and creamy.

  3. Add powdered sugar. Don’t add the entire amount of sugar at once. Add a small amount of sugar. Beat. Again add a small amount of sugar. Beat. Repeat till you get a smooth sugar + butter mixture.
  4. Now add maida (all purpose flour). Mix nicely till you get a smooth cookie dough.

  5. Now form a roll out of this cookie dough. Cling wrap it and keep it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  6. After half an hour, take out the cookie dough. Start making small dough balls out of this cookie dough. Flatten the dough ball a little bit. Press it from the center with your thumb. Fill it with jam. Don’t overfill it. Half a teaspoon of jam would be enough for one cookie ball.

  7. Repeat the above process for all the cookies.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 180 C / 350 F. Allow the cookies to cool don a little bit on the baking tray itself for at least 10 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack. Let them cool down completely.
