Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup Maida (All purpose flour)
  • 1/4 Cup Cornflour (Cornstarch)
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar (Powdered)
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (At room temperature)
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon White Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 C / 350 F. Grease a cake tin.

  2. Mix cinnamon and sugar together. Just add  powdered sugar and cinnamon powder in a bowl and mix properly with a spoon. Keep aside.

  3. In a small bowl, add milk and white vinegar. Mix well. Keep aside
  4. Now take a separate bowl. Add butter. Beat it with a hand mixer or a hand whisk. Beat it for 2-3 minutes or till you get a light and creamy texture. 
  5. Add powdered sugar and cinnamon mixture. You don’t have to add the entire amount of powdered sugar (and cinnamon ) all at once. Add some amount of it. Beat it. Again add a small amount of sugar and cinnamon mixture. Beat. Repeat this process.

  6. Add milk + vinegar mixture. Mix nicely. Also add vanilla essence and mix.

  7. In a separate bowl, put a sieve. Add maida (all purpose flour), cornflour and baking powder. Sieve!

  8. Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients. The cake batter is ready!

  9. Add the cake batter into the cake tin. Bake at 180 C /350 F for 30-35 minutes or till a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
