I love baking different varieties of banana breads. Banana is one of the most apt ingredients for cakes and breads. Not only, banana is an excellent egg substitute but also an amazing ingredient for breads and cakes.

This recipe is eggless. Banana is one of the best alternative to egg in baking. Thus in this recipe, banana will act as the replacement and would make this bread spongy, soft and moist.
This is a simple, quick and easy one bowl recipe. Firstly we will mash the bananas. You can mash the bananas using a fork. I simply blend roughly cut bananas into a smooth puree form for these kind of recipes.
After this, all we need to do is mix all the ingredients together.
Take a mixing bowl, add mashed bananas, oil/butter and sugar. Give this a nice mix.
It’s better if you use powdered sugar . For powdered sugar, simply blend granulated sugar in a blender. I use my Wonderchef Nutri Blend for this purpose. By the way, if you are thinking of buying a new blender, then I highly recommend Nutri Blend. I have been using it since two years and I love it. Measure the blended (and powdered) sugar and use!
Now we will add vanilla essence. Vanilla essence is a really nice ingredient. Individually Simple in flavor yet it enhances the taste of cakes and other baked items so much.
Now it’s time for the dry ingredients. Keep a sieve on the top of the bowl. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Give this a nice mix and add chocolate chips. And our batter is ready to go into the oven.

- 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour / Maida
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Butter / Oil
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 cup Banana mashed
- 2 tablespoon Chocolate Chips
Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade. Grease a loaf pan.
Firstly mash the bananas. The mashed bananas should measure up to one cup.
Put the mashed bananas in a bowl. Add butter/oil and sugar. NOTE - It would be better if you powder the sugar before using. The sugar will mix with the oil + mashed banana mixture easily.
Mix them together till the sugar melts. Now add vanilla essence.
In a separate bowl, sieve together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips and mix so that the chocolate chips get coated with the flour. (This step is important as it prevents the chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of the cake)
Now add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix nicely with the help of a spatula.
Pour this batter into the loaf pan. Add some chocolate chips on the top.
Bake it for 30-35 minutes at 180 degree centigrade or till a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
